The recently released Hollywood movie “The Jungle Book” opened to great numbers over the box-office on Indian screens. There is no doubt that film is attracting major portion of the audience to its screens. Here’s how the film fared at the box-office on its Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, 1st Weekend, Day 4 and Day 5.
The flick is smashing all records at the box office with its stunning VFX and incredible performances. The film set the cash registers jingling.
Mowgli, Bagheera, Baloo and many more are winning over the Indian audiences heart. The Jungle Book, in an all-new avatar has collected a whopping amount of Rs 40 crore in its opening weekend as per trade analysts thus becoming the second biggest opening weekend in India after Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Airlift’.
The film managed to mint Rs 10.09 crores on its opening day i.e Friday from Indian screens. It collected Rs 13.51 crore on its second business day i.e Saturday thus making a total of Rs 23.60 crore in just 2 days over the box-office.
Sunday being the family day saw jump in the audiences which helped it to mint Rs 16.59 crore. What an incredible opening weekend numbers! Probably it will cross Rs 50 crore mark in the weekdays.
After “Batman vs Superman” now The Jungle Book is sweeping away Bollywood movies business. Suprisingly the morning show occupancy of the flick was higher than biggest Hindi releases of this year.
Directed by Jon Favreau, based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories, the film is garnering positive ratings and reviews from critics and viewers. This year we already saw Hollywood flicks challenging the biggest Hindi releases at the box-office. Lets hope if the trend will change later this year.
As the film is for family audiences so this along with strong word of mouth publicity is helping the film to gross big numbers at the box-office.
The Jungle Book will come face-to-face with Bollywood superstar SRK starrer “Fan” on 15th April. And it will be real challenge for both the movies to hold on their audiences.
