Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the most popular South Indian actresses. Born and brought up in Chennai, she is an established actress in Telugu and Tamil film industries. Versatile in her acting and performance, she is the recipient of three Filmfare Awards! She has acted with most of the top heroes in Tollywood.
Before entering films, she did modelling from college days. She debut with a Gautham Vasudev film Ye Maya Chesave (2010), that not only earned her applaud from critics and viewers but fetched her an award too.
Ye Maya Chesave was critically appreciated and fetched the Filmfare Award for “Best Debut Actress” and a Nandi Award for Samantha. Samantha went on to feature in Vamsi Paidipally’s Telugu film “Brindaavanam”. She played Indu and this film became her second successful film in Telugu industry.
She won both the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress and Telugu Actress that too in 2012 for Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Eega.
She climbed the ladder of success with her hit films like Dookudu in 2011, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Attarintiki Daredi that released in 2013. She received appreciation for AR Murugadoss’s action film, Kaththi which released in 2014.
In 2012, Samantha started her own NGO, Pratyusha Support, to provide medical support for women and children. She donates her earnings to NGO. She stars in many endorsements and brands.
She also starred in a music video for the World Classical Tamil Conference promotional song, Semmozhiyaana Tamizh Mozhiyaam, which Menon directed. She is credited to be one of the best actresses.
The beauty is often compared to “Actress Revathi”. She says Menon is her Guru. He taught her acting and made her an overnight star!
