The recently release Marathi movie “Sairat” is doing phenomenal business over the box-office. The film successfully completed its 2 weeks in the theatres. Sairat turns biggest grosser in Marathi cinema.
With a collection of over Rs 25 crore in its first week, the film marked its presence at the box-office. Further it continued its strong run at the box office in its second week too. As tweeted by trade analyst ‘Taran adarsh’ it minted a total of Rs 41.11 crore in just 11 days of its release.

With such a fantastic collection, Sairat emerges as a Blockbuster in Marathi cinema. Now this movie Sairat is all set to break the record and collect even more in its 2nd week. It is expected to reach very near to or even cross Rs 50 crore mark in 2 weeks.
The number of screens have been increased from the first week. It is a low budget and a real ending which made audience to accept the movie.
Sairat is a romantic film starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar. It is directed by Nagraj Manjule and produced by Nagraj Manjule, Nitin Keni, and Nikhil Sane and the music produced by Ajay-Atul. The film was released in India on 29 April 2016. It becomes the biggest weekend opener for marathi film breaking record held by Natsamrat.
The film follows the story of Parshya, a low-caste man, and Archie, a daughter of an rich “upper caste landlord”, who fall in love despite pressures from society that they must not be together. When their relationship is discovered, the couple is faced with violence and many challenges. Till now there is no Marathi which has crossed Rs. 50 Crores.
The film was selected for the 66th Berlin International Film Festival under its Generation 14plus section. Rinku Rajguru was awarded a National Film Award – Special Jury Award / Special Mention (Feature Film) at the 63rd National Film Awards in 2015 for her effective portrayal .
