Nagraj Manjule directorial Marathi romantic drama ‘Sairat’ is setting out milestone for future releases in Indian cinema. The most talked about movie today ‘Sairat’ has successfully completed its 7th weekend over the box-office and still running with better occupancy in some cinemas.
With its impressive performance at the box-office, Sairat has turned out as the Biggest hit in Marathi film industry. Thats a big news for a movie made at a mere budget of Rs 4 crores and perfect reason for the star cast of the film to have blast at ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. Its lead actors Rinku Rajguru, Akash Thosar and director Nagraj Manjule graced the show on 12th June.
The movie which is beyond the glamour of Bollywood and still managed to mint a whopping amount of Rs 90 crore in just 42 days of its release has turned out to be surprising for many of us. Its success over the box-office is a tight slap to those movies who earn by skin show, raunchy dialogues and by providing masala to the viewers.
The Marathi film industry is giving out some serious cinema to the audience starting the year with “Natsamrat”. Isn’t great to see such kind of movies entering to the fore leaving behind masala entertainers.
‘Sairat’ is an epic love story that takes a critical look at Indian society in the 21st century. Take a look at its week wise collection below:
First week: Rs 25.5 cr
Second week: Rs 24.66 cr
Third week: Rs 16 cr
Fourth week: Rs 15 cr
Fifth week: Rs 5 cr
Sixth week: Rs 4 cr
That makes up a total collection of Rs 90.16 cr in 42 days or till its 6th week on Indian screens. The great response to the film might have forced the film makers to release it in other languages too as we are hearing the news of its remake in 4 other Southern languages. May the movie remain unbeatable in those languages too.
