The young Indian gymnast “Dipa Karmakar” has created history by securing an Olympic berth in Rio Olympics 2016. She made a score of 52.698 points to qualify for the game. Its a turning point for Indian gymnastics.
Dipa Karmakar along with her coach went Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympic Gymnastics Test Event which is the final gymnastics qualifying event for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Her vault Produnova is one of the most difficult vault in the world and helped her to socre 15.066 points which was the highest among all 14 competitors.
The Tripura girl ‘Dipa’ has not only made her state proud, but the whole nation, because she made the golden history which is very beneficial for the growth of gymnast in India.

Dipa Karmakar has earlier also created history by winning Commonwealth Games bronze in artistic gymnastics in 2014. She is the first Indian woman and the second Indian to bag Commonwealth Games medal in artistic gymnastics.
