Namotel, another Indian company is here with yet another World’s cheapest smartphone and that too just for Rs 99. Now the question arises after the popular scam of “Freedom 251” if Namotel is a scam or legit this time? Read on to find out what you need to know about World’s cheapest mobile phone.
Recently at a press conference held at Bangaluru Madhava Reddy, Namotel promoter claimed the phone to be World’s cheapest which is priced at just Rs 99 only. The smartphone has been made as a “MAKE IN INDIA” initiative and named after PM’s acche din slogan “Achhe Din Smartphone”.
Its specifications include Android 5.1 Lollipop, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, 2Mp rear camera, 3MP front camera, dual sim 3G connectivity, 4″ HD display, 1325 mAh battery.
The 4-inch smartphone is priced at Rs. 2,999 but available at a special launch price of Rs. 99 between May 17 and May 25. Its pre-bookings have already been started. The model is applicable only for Indians and who holds Aadhar Identity.
The user can check out its official website “namotel.com” to know the exact booking process. The website also reads “Pictures shown on website is for illustration purposes only” so its not clear whether the images are of real handset or not.
Not much details have been provided by the company regarding its cheapest smartphone like number of handsets available.
The hype created by ‘Freedom 251’ ended up as scam. With FIR’s being lodged, the company virtually being branded as a scam. The race to cheapest smartphone did not ended there. Another smartphone ‘Docoss X1’ hit the limelight being priced at Rs 888 was supposed to to start deliveries from May 2, 2016.
