Akira 2nd Weekend Box-office Collections & Earnings

Akira 2nd Weekend Box-office Collections – Sonakshi Sinha starrer “Akira” had a dull 2nd weekend at the box-office. The film apparently failed to impress the audience and its weekend earning numbers clearly reflect the film’s poor performance despite a power packed performance by ‘Dabangg’ Sonakshi Sinha.

Akira released on 2nd September with no big Bollywood release and despite this fact it failed to cash in on the opportunity and collected only Rs.5.15 crore ( approx). Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: “#Akira gathered momentum after an ordinary start… Biz picked up from evening onwards… Fri ₹ 5.15 cr. India biz.” Its 1st weekend collection stands at Rs.16.25 crore (approx.)

Trade analyst wrote,”#Akira shows minimal growth on Sat… Sun is crucial… Fri 5.15 cr, Sat 5.30 cr. Total: ₹ 10.45 cr. India biz.” The trade analysts are citing very little or no buzz about the movie for its poor performance at the box-office.

The flick failed to attract audience in its 2nd weekend and its lifetime collection is expected to remain under Rs 30 crores nett. With such low collections, it will find a place in the list of top flop films this year. The regions like Mumbai might add few lakhs to its collection in the coming days but the numbers will not take its lifetime collection to any significant level.

Sonakshi Sinha’s starrer Akira is an Indian action drama movie directed by AR Murugados. The story of the film revolves around a college girl named Akira Sharma who is dedicated to her studies. The film is the remake of Tamil film Mouna Guru. The film hit the theatres today i.e. on September 2, 2016.

The stars in the film are Sonakshi Sinha as Akira Sharma, Kokona Sen Sharma, Anurag Kashyaps, Teena Singh, Amit Sadh, Raai Laxmi, Akshay Kumar, Urmila Mahnta, Atul Kulkarni, Lokyesh Vijay Gupta and Mishiekka Arora as Young Akira.

It is an action thriller film in which a self reliant college student takes on corrupt police officers single handendly to prove her innocence. The movie has generally received positive reviews from the critics. The movie got an approval rating of 74% based on 273 votes with an average rating of 4.1 out of 5.
