The third of the 1920 horror series, 1920 London is performing well at the box office. It had a well build goodwill so managed to draw audience to the theatres. But the storyline wasn’t as great and strong as its prequels.
1920 London hit the screens on 6th May and have been climbing up the ladder slowly. Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the movie features Sharman Joshi, Meera Chopra and Vishal Karwal. Sagar Saikia plays an antagonist.

The craze among the viewers of this genre flick helped it to mint first day opening of nearly Rs 2.50 crore. By the end of its 2nd weekend the movie managed to collect approx Rs 13.96 crores which includes Rs 39 lacs on 2nd Friday, Rs 49 lacs on 2nd Saturday and Rs 63 lacs on Sunday.
We are expecting it to soon cross Rs 15 crore mark on its 12th or 13th business day. Its 2nd week collection is important to add more numbers to its total box-office number.
It did recover its making cost as well as managed to rain profits for the makers. It did better business than other Bollywood releases like “One Night Stand” and “Traffic” which failed to impress the audience.
The Story goes that the lead Shivangi played by Meera Chopra lives in London with her husband played by Vishal Karwal. They receive a gift, a locket from India and Veer gets possessed by some devil and then the twist comes when Shivangi contacts Jai, an exorcist played by Sharman Joshi for helping them out who resides in Rajasthan. So thats what the plot is. Till now the female lead was getting possessed now its the male lead.
Movie goers always have a liking for Horror movies. But our horror movies rarely match Hollywood’s level. Since this is the first horror flick of 2016 it is predicted to do good business over the upcoming days or lets hope so!
